Hi. My name is Antony.
And this is one of my favourite photos of all time!
It’s of me with my godmother, Christina. She literally brought me up as a kid in South Africa. She was our “house maid” and shielded me from a lot of trauma and she was an amazing anchor for me as I struggled to navigate a childhood filled with abuse, traumas and turbulence.
When I was a kid, we visited this beach in Durban many times. But in those days, Christina wasn’t allowed on the beach unless she was dressed in “maid’s overalls” and minding the white kids (me and my sister) – because there were big signs up the front of all beaches saying “Whites Only.”
Here we are, all those years later, apartheid already dismantled. Standing on the beach. As equals!!
WHAT DO WE STAND FOR?
We stand for Equity, Empowerment and Mutuality. All boats must rise!
We believe that the world is an exceptional place. And that every woman, man and child deserves to live a life of dignity, in harmony with the planet.
We believe that whether this reality named above eventuates (or not) depends on the small actions which we each take (or fail to take) over the next 3 years.
Action beats inaction.
We believe that a journey with Soul beats working 24/7. It’s more important to enjoy the whole journey up the mountain, not just to plant a “flag of success” at the peak of the mountain after struggling every step along the way.
